John Dean

A graduate of Holy Cross College, a former Peace Corps Volunteer and a graduate of the Wharton School with an MBA in Finance, John spent 30 years as an executive in the financial services industry, focusing on technology start-up companies for the last eight years. From 1993 to 2001, John was CEO of Silicon Valley Bancshares and Silicon Valley Bank. During his tenure the bank's assets grew from $935 million to $5.5 billion, the employees from 235 to over 1000, and the market capitalization from $63 million to a high of over $3 billion. From 2001 to 2003, he was Chairman of the Board for the bank and the holding company. In 1997 Business Week recognized John as one of Silicon Valley's top 25 "movers and shakers". In 2000 and 2001, Silicon Valley Bancshares was ranked first among the two hundred largest banking companies in the United States by U.S. Banker, based upon return on equity and growth in per-share net income over a five-year period. In 2001 Forbes recognized John as one of the "50 most powerful dealmakers." And, in 2001 Fortune ranked Silicon Valley Bancshares among the "100 Fastest-Growing Companies" based on growth in revenues, EPS and total market return over three years.


Joseph D Keegan

Dr. Keegan is President & CEO of ForteBio and has more than 25 years of experience managing life science tools businesses. During his 9-year tenure at MDC, Dr. Keegan grew the company's revenues from $30 million to $190 million through internal growth and acquisitions. In early 2007, he oversaw its acquisition by MDS for $615 million. Dr. Keegan joined MDC from Becton Dickinson and Company where he served as president of Worldwide Tissue Culture and vice president, general manager of Worldwide Flow Cytometry. Prior to Becton Dickinson, Dr. Keegan was vice president of the Microscopy and Scientific Instruments Division of Leica, Inc. He currently serves on the board of directors of Alpha Innotech Corporation, Seahorse Bioscience Inc and ForteBio, Inc. Dr. Keegan holds a Ph.D. in physical chemistry from Stanford University.

Dr. Edwin J. Lau

Dr. Lau has over 24 years of experience with several U.S. technology companies, including software companies. He is a Managing Director of ICCP Venture Partners-US (IVPI-US). Dr. Lau joined IVPI-US in 2003, providing valuable experience in the technology field. Dr. Lau was the vice-chairman and Co-founder of Newmoon Systems, Inc., which was subsequently sold to Tarantella, Inc. Dr. Lau is a co-founder of Audible, Inc. (NASDAQ:ADBL). Dr. Lau holds three patents with two patent applications currently pending. Dr. Lau holds a Doctorate and Master of Science in Computer Science degrees from the University of California Berkeley, and an AB in Computer Science and Mathematics from New York University.


Yatin Mundkur

Yatin Mundkur focuses on early-stage technology investments. As a Partner of Artiman Ventures, he is currently on the boards of BioImagene, Nethra Imaging, Spudnik, Virident Systems and Xbux. Before joining Artiman Ventures in 2004 as a Partner, Yatin was Managing Director at TeleSoft Partners, where he led investments in over twenty companies, in the early stage semiconductor and software sectors. Prior to joining TeleSoft Partners, Yatin founded and served as President of Equator Technologies, a developer of Programmable Media Processors. His prior experience also includes VP/Group Manager at Conexant, and Chief Architect/Design Manager at Sun Microsystems, Ross Technology and Cypress Semiconductor. Yatin has over 17 years of overall experience working with technology companies in venture capital. He also holds ten patents in areas of computer architectures, digital consumer electronics, semiconductor design, and software.

Education:
Yatin holds a B.S.E.E. from MSU of Baroda, India, and an M.S.E.E. from the University of Texas at Austin.

Mohan Uttarwar

Mohan is a co-founder of BioImagene and has more than 20 years of experience as a high-tech entrepreneur. Mohan was the co-founder of Roamware Inc. and was the president and founder of SoftPlus, a leading provider of eCRM software for telecom carriers around the world. In February 2000, SoftPlus was sold to US Interactive for $360 million. Prior to starting SoftPlus, Mohan co-founded and served as the president of Digital Tools Inc., a leader in enterprise project and resource management software. He has held various software development and management positions with Hewlett Packard and Intel. Mohan has a Masters degree in Computer Science from the Florida Institute of Technology and a Masters in Electrical Engineering from Bombay University in Mumbai. He is a charter member of TiE (The Indus Entrepreneurs), a Silicon Valley-based forum for entrepreneurs.
