BioImagene announces appointment of Abhi Gholap as chief operating officer (COO) for company’s worldwide operations.

After Co-founding BioImagene, Abhijeet has been shouldering the responsibilities as the chief technology officer & executive Vice-president for the past three years. Abhi now will be in charge of the complete operational management of the company.

Abhi is responsible for the technical and strategic direction, and the engineering activities of the company. Besides managing the complete operations, Abhi's responsibilities include executing company's vision in conjunction with the board of directors and CEO, represent BioImagene as its leader, and formulate productive and profitable business alliances to enhance sales and marketing channels by penetrating international markets.

Prior to co-founding BioImagene, Abhi co-founded E-Tech Solutions, a Microsoft-partnered software company, offering development services in South Korea, Japan and the United States. Before this he held various software development and management positions with leading companies in document imaging and medical imaging technologies in the United States and Asia. Abhi has worked on image processing and pattern recognition technologies for over a decade. He also worked with CEDAR at SUNY Buffalo on the USPS imaging project for zip code to bar code conversion.

Abhi earned his MTech from the Indian Institute of Technology at Mumbai, India with a specialization in medical image processing and pattern recognition.
