BioImagene announces the release
of CellMine 2.0 Image Management and Analysis system.
SAN MATEO, California--(BUSINESS WIRE)—November
8th, 2005 – BioImagene announced today
the introduction of CellMine™ 2.0, the new release
of image management and analysis software tailored
for the rapidly growing high content screening market.
"BioImagene’s pioneering SIMS™ product
brought image informatics solutions to pharmaceutical research
and development. With the introduction of CellMine 2.0,
we’re solidifying our position as the innovator in
image management for high-content, cell-based assays.” remarked
Mohan Uttarwar, President and CEO of BioImagene.
According to a recently published report by HTStec (Cambridge,
United Kingdom), the number of high content screens performed
at pharmaceutical and biotech companies will increase 50%
over the next year. This increase in the number of images
and associated numerical data is driving demand for software
solutions that can manage images and image data, integrate
that data with external sources, and then analyze and share
across the enterprise.
Using CellMine™, image-derived cell-based assay
information is easily combined with complementary data
from biochemical assays, toxicology profiles and compound
registries to accelerate lead selection. Powerful search
and data-mining capabilities enable easy comparison of
data from different sources. CellMine’s web-based
architecture allows teams and collaborators at different
sites to share images and data. And since CellMine™ is
US FDA 21 CRF Part 11 enabled, original data is protected
with any changes documented in an audit trail.
