BioImagene
unveils the robust 3i platform for Image Informatics
solutions
Cupertino,
CA, March 19, 2007
BioImagene,
the leading provider of digital pathology solutions, today
introduced 3i, a web based platform for developing imaging
applications for Digital Pathology and Drug Discovery.
At the core of 3i are three powerful modules of Image Management,
Image Processing and Image Analysis, with built-in services
for integration and collaboration. 3i is built on patented
technologies from SIMS and TissueAnalytics platforms, from
BioImagene’s acquisitions of Scimagix and Tissue
Informatics. The 3i architecture is optimized for acquiring,
archiving, analysis, management, reporting and sharing
of image data, for a seamless information flow.
3i helps develop imaging applications faster. It is scalable
with open standards used in the life sciences industry.
It helps integrate multi modalities and connect disparate
silos, enabling users to have information at their fingertips.
3i is 21 CFR Part 11 compliant to support regulatory
needs of reference laboratories, biopharmaceutical, and
research customers.
Steve Yu, BioImagene VP of Technology Solutions said “Pathologists
and researchers are looking for user-friendly applications
to manage and mine imaging data in a simple way to meet
their everyday requirements. The rich functionalities
of the 3i Framework – Image Management, distributed
Image Processing and Image analysis, reduce our application
development time by factor of five, for our pharmaceutical,
and reference laboratory customers.”
The Image Management module allows easy storage, search
and retrieval of images and associated data. The distributed
Image Processing module is a complete solution for processing
large images based on pre defined protocols and report
generation in customized formats. The Image Analysis
module gives unprecedented speed for developing imaging
algorithms for tissue and cell analysis. It comes equipped
with over 30 algorithms.
3i has external data integration features and supports
easy integration with different applications, web, LIMS,
data bases, reporting tools and visualization tools for
a seamless information flow. The collaboration infrastructure
enables distributed teams to access, view, and share
imaging work and is ideal for Digital pathology applications
like telepathology, distance learning, peer review, virtual
tumor board, and web portals. Media Contact, Suchitra
