BioImagene introduces Pathiam™ 3.0
(RUO)* - a comprehensive and affordable Digital Pathology
Solution
Cupertino, CA, March 26, 2007
BioImagene, the leading provider of digital pathology solutions,
today introduced Pathiam™ 3.0 (RUO) a comprehensive,
affordable digital pathology solution for research use. Pathiam™ 3.0
(RUO) comes with iScan™- BioImagene’s new tissue
slide scanner for digital image acquisition. iScan™ combines
state-of-the-art functionality, appealing aesthetics and
a compact form factor. Pathiam™ 3.0 (RUO) is
built on BioImagene’s 3i™ platform and includes
image analysis and quantification, image management, customizable
reporting, and enables remote sharing and collaboration.
Pathiam™ 3.0 (RUO) is compatible with most of the leading
scanners in the market.
BioImagene strongly believes that computer assisted quantification
of images will improve care and quality of work life
for pathologists. Pathiam™ 3.0 (RUO) is the first of
its kind, an automated solution designed to assist the pathologist
in teaching and research. It is a very user friendly system
designed by pathologists for pathologists and is intended
to improve efficiency, accuracy and consistency in the study
of tissue samples.
Sanford H. Barsky, M.D., The Donald A Senhauser Endowed Chair
of Pathology at The Ohio State University said “We
are very pleased with our preliminary validation tests of
BioImagene’s Digital Pathology Solution. The results,
in many ways, are equivalent to traditional viewing of slides
through the microscope but in other ways are superior in
that the pathologist, using the automated solution, can simultaneously
view both the magnified image and the thumbnail view of the
entire slide, thereby insuring that no area of the slide
is overlooked. Furthermore the Digital Pathology
Solution is ergonomically superior and less visually
fatiguing."
Mohan Uttarwar CEO said “Pathiam™ 3.0 (RUO) is
a significant early milestone for BioImagene in our ultimate
goal to enable digital pathology for every pathologist in
every laboratory and every hospital. We have made this a
very affordable solution with zero upfront cost to the laboratory
and a minimal pay-per-use fee of $ 0.99 for a slide scan”.
