BioImagene appoints prominent pathologist Dr Robert J Monroe as Chief Medical Officer

BioImagene, the leader in providing innovative and affordable digital pathology solutions for cancer diagnosis and research, strengthened its executive team with the appointment of Robert J Monroe, M.D., PH, D, as Chief Medical Officer (CMO).
Dr. Monroe will lead the company’s efforts to develop and commercialize image analysis applications to provide customers with the most comprehensive panels for breast, prostate, lung, colon pathology as well as cytopathology. He has over 10 years of pathology and research experience and his appointment follows the recent funding round where BioImagene raised $26 M for expansion capital and expanded their board.

Dr. Monroe is board certified by the American Board of Pathology in cytopathology, anatomic pathology and clinical pathology. He received his degrees in medicine and genetics from Harvard Medical School and completed his pathology residency in Stanford and UCLA followed by a cytopathology fellowship at UCLA. In addition to his impressive medical credentials, he is the recipient of many honors including the Modell Prize for Graduate Research in Immunology awarded by the Harvard Medical School Program in Immunology. Dr. Monroe has published numerous articles for peer reviewed journals and has shared his expertise through various lectures and presentations locally and nationally.
