Crescendo™
Digital pathology improves the quality and efficiency of practicing pathologists. BioImagene’s Crescendo pathology workstation transforms the role of a pathologist into that of a diagnostician. The Crescendo integrates silos of information such as the Laboratory Information System (LIS), radiology images, gross images, online references, and differential patient information with digital images of pathology slides to provide pathologists all the necessary information, to make an educated diagnosis. A pathologist can simultaneously view multiple slide images and navigate around the images in a synchronized fashion, allowing them to compare the same serial sections of a tissue sample stained with different markers, or to compare against past images to make a differential diagnosis. The Crescendo incorporates all the features of BioImagene’s Virtuoso™ application; allowing pathologists to benefit from several disease specific Companion Algorithms™ to quantitatively assess various biomarkers. Using the Crescendo, geographically distributed pathologists can easily collaborate on a case with an Internet connection, allowing second opinions or peer reviews to be sought and rendered across distances instantaneously, without any need to ship slides around. The Crescendo is a modern-day companion for the pathologists, helping them experience the benefits of digital pathology including telepathology, image analysis, rich media reports, virtual tumor boards, and remote second opinions.
