Digital Pathology Workstation
Ventana’s digital pathology workstation will deliver the ideal diagnostic environment for the practicing pathologist. The workstation will integrate data from silos of information such as the Laboratory Information System (LIS), radiology PACS, gross images, online references (e.g., PathXchange.org), and the patient’s medical record, and display them side-by-side with whole-slide digital images to provide pathologists all the necessary information to arrive at an educated diagnosis.
The vision of the workstation is to allow the pathologist to produce a truly integrated patient diagnostic report, incorporating data from various sources (pathology, radiology, and reference literature) and the report could then be customized for different audiences; the patient, the clinician, the insurance company, etc.
