Virtuoso

Digital Pathology Application Software

BioImagene’s Virtuoso digital pathology application software works with BioImagene’s iScan™ family of whole slide scanners to provide an end-to-end Total Digital Pathology Solution. Virtuoso is a web-based application that offers a rich set of digital pathology features delivered with an easy-to-use and intuitive user interface. Designed to deliver role-based functionality, e.g., pathologists, histotechnologists, lab administrators, and clinicians, Virtuoso enables various users to incorporate digital pathology within the anatomic pathology workflow.

Virtuoso orchestrates the workflow around the digital slide, from the moment the slide is scanned to the time the whole slide image is viewed, analyzed*, signed-out, and the results reported. The digital pathology software includes automated QC algorithms to check for staining quality, slide preparation, and image quality. In addition, Virtuoso offers Companion Algorithms™ to assist pathologists quantify IHC and FISH stains. Remote sign-out and telepathology features in the digital pathology software gives pathologists the ability to remotely view whole slide images, conduct on-line collaboration sessions with other pathologists, and engage with experts for second opinions by sharing whole slide images of a case.

With the Virtuoso digital pathology application software, BioImagene is able to assist pathologists in providing consistent and objective diagnoses to the patient and their clinicians. In turn, Virtuoso improves the efficiency and quality of patient care for the practicing pathologist.
